about me
I write a weekly column on wine for The Independent and teach wine in schools for the Leiths School of Food & Wine. ¶ For Decanter Magazine, I chair the Australian panel at their annual World Wine Awards and their Wine Retailer Awards panel. ¶ Publications I write for include Decanter and The World of Fine Wine and I contribute on wine investment and auctions to Jancis Robinson’s Oxford Companion to Wine.

The Wine Gang

In November 2008, four wine writers and I launched www.thewinegang.com. This is an exciting subscription website with a newsletter and 200 new wine notes each month. All for £19.99 a year! We also held our first ever consumer event at Vinopolis.

Also in 2010...

I checked out Amarone in Verona, tasted Bordeaux 2009 en primeur, spoke about malbec at Cahors’ Journées Internationales, discovered Dalmatia, visited New Zealand, Chile and Argentina, and did The Full (ish) Monty for Everyman, the cancer charity.

And finally

I live in Southfields, London. I like to cook, eat, drink wines I can't afford and take snaps. After working at Christie’s for a year since Cambridge, my son is now at the Courtauld doing something productive with his life instead of drinking my best bottles.
